BEWARE OF WHO'S NEXT ENTERTAINMENT

Hello to all, We are a newbie here, but not to forum sites. First let me say that we are happy and proud to be a apart of such a well respect organization and we look forward to gettin our grind on with as many of your PRODUCERS as we can. With that said, I was reading through the threads and this one caught my eye exclusively... reason? Well two days ago a dude named Doug Burks from "Who's Next Entertainment" (whosnextent.com) out of Atlanta... at least thats what the caller ID said (404-468-5121). He said that he got one of our demos from some A&R cats he was down with and he was interested. Now, he indicated the demo had 14 tracks and the cover was this and that, so I knew he actually had the cd, so I listen to him give his spill. He went on to say the exact same thing I keep hearing many producers say they hear. He would "put me on"... he would "shop my demo"... he got connects... this and that. Then he said the thing I was waiting to hear. "YOU GOT TO SEND ME $350.00" and dowload an agreement that stated we would have his "services" for 9 MONTHS... yeah I said 9 MONTHS!!! He would get 15% of what ever deal he got for us and so on. Now dear Producer brother and sisters... I have been in the world a long time, 37 years to be exact... my sons & partners are 20, 18 and 16, and there would be no way in hell I would even think about paying anyone, anything to help me do something that I can actually do on my own with the RIGHT people, ie: Manager or Lawyer. Now, don't get me wrong, I need assistance, networking and connections like everyone else to get our team off the ground. But come on! That's the old bait and switch. I did that type of stuff back in the day... WHEN I WAS A KID. That's like saying I need to borrow money to show someone else I got money to get some money from them, then I'll give you yours back. SCAM CITY. I'm just of the belief that if you got talent, put yourself in the right place at the right time, stay humble but not weak, put in hard work and surround yourself with people who are willing to put their blood sweat and tears into your dream knowing they won't get something until the back end (ie, Manager, Crew, etc.)... then it's gonna happen for you. IT JUST WILL. Family, I just wanted to let everyone know of this cat. Who knows he just may be legit... but I been around too long not to know better. Any Pay For Play is not good. Radio included.

Yeah, that's definitely a good look. I think I've seen emails from those folks myself.

you know, i had a manager when i first got to NY his Name was Scorsese or whaterver and he kept tellin me artists where lookin for beats and have me email him mp3s... One day it slipped out his mouth that he make beats too...:cussing: so i figured me might be takin them and using them as his own or whatever. Although he did give me great advice in exchange if that was a scam.

great advice family grind. and actually that name "who's next entertainement sounds OD familiar, and i think i got a email from them before.recently someone emailed me talkin bout they seen my beats on soundclic and they want 10 of them JUST TO START. and then talk aobut coppin more. (ALL EXCLUSIVE RIGHTS). and i was like iight send me $2100 for all 10 of the beats u want and i gotchu. they wanted to send by money order. looked clean to me, cause they gave me their address and number and all that bs. i gave them mine and told them to put the money order under my father's name (Im not in the states currently) so they say they sent the money order and i should get it on friday or saturday (2 weeks ago) i still havent got it, and i sent them an email talkin bout "wtf happened??" and they aint reply, but na i just checked they not who's next ent. its called murder for hire entertainement. they from chicago. but i just hope they aint scam me or it having to do wit my address. anyways..
