Thread: What type of EQ?

I'm starting to work on eq'in a little bit now...i'm trying to find the sweet spots of instruments (i've read that most instruments have to two sweet spots). I was wondering what type of Eq (parametric, paragraphic etc) should i be using. Any help is appreciated

I wouldnt worry about graphic vs metric. Thats all a matter of taste. Metric is just more specific.

I know you don't want to hear this, but you should really just sit down with some sounds and experiment boosting and lowering different frequencies. You will become more familiar with the frequency spectrum, which is veyr important.

well i guess in a sense thats what i intended to do...more so as i mix each song that i do...but keep note...particularly more so to the sounds i use mostly that way i get better at my sound if that makes sense...i ain't expecting nothing to happen over nite...even if i hear just a little something of improvement it helps me focus more
