Thread: I need that Dj Toomp Hat-ride wtv sound

You know the sound he always use in his beat, I have sound that sounds like it, but not quite and I can't get it like his. I think it's called a hat ride or something. I really like that sounds, especially to give a soulful tone just like in Nas' N.I.G.G.E.R or Jay-z's Hello

Me I don't care biting someone, as long as I FEEL that it's hot. Biting something because OTHERS think it's hot, now that's wrong. But yeah the ride cymbal, the reason I want the exact same one, is because I put one on some beat and it didn't have the feel I wanted, so maybe the exact one will give it. Or maybe I just can't tweak it the right way

i think he just pitches em really high and filters away all the lows and mids. i dunno if his actual ride is that special.

It's that ride cymbal like fuego said. But now that I listened to that and "Say Hello", they don't sound the same, and I think I actually have the sound, it's just not tweak like I want, or perhaps because I didn't use it in the same context (not in surrounded by the same instruments) I thought I didn't have the right sound

sounds like he has a very light shaker going on 1/16.. and the cymbal on 1/4.. maybe try playing with the volume, panning, and reverb a bit
