1. That was a shot from the cannon, Abstrack. I think you should carefully read before jumping to conclusions like that. On the other hand, Mas, you should choose your words more wisely. Phrases like "...I think it would be fair to let the people decide because I Am sure if that was the case the winner of this competition would not have won (No disrespect to Abstrak Beats I think your beat/beats are good) But..." are suspect and should definitely be more clear so the person observing doesn't take it as a personal threat to his craft and retaliate with "There may indeed been some tracks that were better than mine, and maybe not also. But for you to say yours was better is some egotistical ish..You need to let the people vote , which they did and have them tell you they like your music..Not you tell everyone how hot your shit is without any feedback."
2. This is a grind. Not every track is going to make the cut, no matter how disgusting it is (in both the good and bad sense of the word). Jay-Z passed on a track Timbaland played for him for his 'The Black' album and was later picked up by Ludachris. Could Jay have ripped it, most likely. Did Luda kill it, undoubtedly. Did Timbaland give up on dishing out the track when Hova said no, absolutely not. Sometimes you know what you have. Sometimes, you have to know when to either call it quits for that track, revisit it or send it in another direction (if applicable). This is a place to help with everything I just mentioned, and beyond. Producers don't just get better by taking notes, going home and making a beat. They get better by studying other producers, seeing what they've done that was successful at some point and use it with the rest of their weaponry. If a contest is given, a battle ensues and the chosen is the victor. If you like what that producer has done, take from that and use it against every producer from that point on to better yourself (to a degree of course). If you didn't like what that producer has done, go that extra mile so that whatever you didn't do in the first battle can get the attention you wanted for the next one. Plenty of trial and error... so you won't be winning them all. However, once you figure out what it is you need to be doing and apply it, you'll have advanced from winning battles to winning wars. Honestly, I feel like I can win wars with my tracks, but I haven't yet. I can sit here all day and give you the violins of the "Roc-A-Fella/Dame Dash Music Group Rell" days, but that would only be me not being able to get over my past. I've jumped that hurdle too many years ago and am still pressing forward because of what I feel I have. If anything, that just made me realize how much of a good producer I can be and makes me push that much harder to get to where I once was. Take from each other without trying to take each other out!
