Money Trees x Perspective x Dynamic 2KFuture

When we started 9 years ago, urban music conferences weren’t a myth, they were alive and kicking. But in recent years, many, if not all of those conferences have fallen completely off. One could speculate on the rise and fall of such events, but in my opinion, I think the conferences became more about the flash and less about the actual dance. Corporations gave big bucks for elaborate productions in the name of marketing. And although they may have commanded a year or even an era, they didn’t last. When the tree dried up, so did the resources and with money at the root, it all came tumbling down.

As we gear up for our 10th year anniversary next year, although I’d love to say that we’ve escaped flaws and all, the reality is, we haven’t. No person, organization, or system is ever 100% proof, but that’s ok, because that comes with the territory of being an innovator. I think the difference however, is that our roots aren’t connected to a money tree. Our roots are connected to the conviction that everyone needs knowledge to grow and everyone should have the opportunity to do what they love full time. As we come closer to 10 years in the industry, we are most proud of our PERSPECTIVE. One can have OPINION from watching, but you only gain PERSPECTIVE from EXPERIENCE. And seeing that no one categorically is touching us, we ARE the authority and we feel more excited, empowered and ready for the future than we’ve ever been.

We’ve been a bit quiet lately, yes we know, and that is because we have been planning some game changing things. We have a new vision, a new direction, and new goals. There’s an Atlanta based MC by the name of Stanza who I must paraphrase because the original is a bit explicit, “Wake up cats it’s the Internet age/and cats still on the corner waiting on a page.” And although we’re not going to announce all the particulars with this message today, please believe that WE DO THIS. Now, more than ever, we know what producers want vs. what they need. It is within this idea that our new direction is found, encrypted to others, clear as day to us. We have THE Super Team of individuals who are working alongside us to help YOU reach greater heights.
