Question How many producers Use Reason ?

Hi, My Name is Nite I actually got a couple of placements with a some big artists but I what to know if y'all use Reason.
I have reason 5 and I actually like the program but you cannot master a beat in the software so I feel like I have to work double.
If you have a great mastering methos in reason please be kind to share it with us

    Thank You

I use Reason for most of my production construction. It's easy to sequence and automate in, so that's the basis of most of my beats. I use Pro Tools to ReWire it out for additional mixing/mastering etc as well as a number of other soft synths since Reason's synth library is somewhat limited.

I'm a Reason user. I'm still on 4, but I wanna get to 6. One thing that I did notice in Reason 3 is that the mixes didn't come out the way I would have liked them to, which was one of the primary reasons I tracked everything out in Pro Tools. But, what I've found is that in order to get a good sound out of something, you first have to understand what you have. The compressors and mastering suites in Reason are good. The question becomes "How are you using them"? I've found that trying to put everything thru one mastering suite hurts my mixes. So, I separate my mixes. I mix my drums on one mixer and my instruments on another (bass depends on if it hurts my mix on instruments or drums). Then I use separate mastering suites and run them thru a line mixer. Afterwards, if something sounds like its missing more (instruments or drums), I'll add compression to either and add that to the mix. I treat the line mixer like a summing bus, really, and have everything go thru that. Now, my mixes actually come out great thru Reason because of this little trick I've learned. It has become the start template for all my tracks, so I don't have to keep doing it over and over again. You should try it and get to know all the components. Then once you have that better understanding, you can maneuver the way you want to and get the sound you want to.

I don't think when I play, I just make smart moves!
