I sent this in for the Mngr's and A&R's Opp. I don't really know what genre this track is. What's your opinions? I'll prolly twist this track around a bit if it doesn't gain any value on the market as is. So what could i do differently? Thanks

@ G-Whizz. hot track, b. i would call that pop/rnb, or trip hop. very original, and can hear someone like usher get on that with a rapper lets say, i dont know...jeezy, luda, weezy.. deffinetly felt it, b. i think you should have sent another one as well, to increase your chances, but thats all up to u.. nice job, though

another rnb/pop record to me... hot.. seems like what the new trends been looking for, so i think it can compete well with the pros.. loved the sine lead u put on the hook, but not to front, i got a little bored after a while.. the mix was pretty good to me, but i think you should have done 1 or 2 MORE patterns, and a little switch up on the drums at least (a noticable switchup) but overall, pretty hot. good luck

Thanks Drape...I just needed to know more about where people felt like this track should be placed... I sent another one. I just wanted the feedback for this one. I was thinking about some key changes. What do you think? Just a thought.

@ G-Whizz this is pretty tight....i think a good song writer would probably help pull out the full potential of this track and help u with the arrangement (if necessary)...I could def see this as a tight song...u on that ole' Prince When Doves Cry no bass line thing, hah (said in my best Juve impression)...lol

@Fingerbeats What it do? I think this is str8 but could use a little work to make it bigger...BUT I feel submitting something is better than nothing @ all...I had to grab some stuff I already had and try to dress it up a lil to submit myself...lol

@Curtdog12 ahhhh ....you listening huh? I was wondering when someone was gonna say "WHERE'S THE BASSLINE" lol. that was definatly done on purpose. Sometimes i go for mine and just create art. I agree on the song writer 100%

@fingerbeats nice beat. Good synth in the begining. Like the chords. The color of the lead synth in the chorus could have been different. When it kicked in it gave the track an 80's appeal. Drums were good, but the snap was only about 60%. I would venture to say your not A & B ing your mix with a commercial product, what kind of speakers you got,?

not the first beat without a bassline, specially these days.. if it was my track, i prolly wouldnt add a bassline either, 808's maximum. and @g-whizz bout your question on the key arrangement, to me it's fine, honest. but if you wanna switch it up and make it better, then do you.

fingerbeats i mixed on the genelecs once before. I went to a "protools" studio to 2 trk for a group. the mix was totally softer than what i had at the cribb with the NS 10s. I let the engineer shit me into thinking " thats the way its supposed to sound" LMAO. I think they come with EQ n some other bypass type stuff. they do better on NON hip hop tracks IMO. But if you get to know your sound really well, you can make them rock, I'm sure. I'm not bashing the genelecs at all.

yo they sounded sooo much different (better) when we were mixing my beat, and when we finished and mastered it, it was sick you feel me. but when i took that home, i noticed a BIG differense, tried playing it on my phone, iPod, w/e example i could think of to compare it's sound, great quality, but the levels were off because the genelecs what they do is send the low frequincies out sooo clean, that you cant tell how much louder it is than the music.. kick+bass sound like the best bass mix i heard in my life, but took it home and the bass and kick were still the shit, but the music was almost invisible (earwise)
