I applaud your effort on the Mya Remix. I like the beat. It's fly and all and matches the theme of the song but something is kind of off in terms of just matching the flow with the beat.

I don't know, I always wanted to play key exactly to her every word and then just add the elements around that.

But it does start to take shape with the second verse. Plus the adlibs on the end: great idea! I like the soft touch on the acoustic keys, sounds dense and crisp. The synth in the background was a bit too much for my taste but since it fit the mood of the song - it was tolerable.

I'm not going to top this so maybe I should just STFU LOL

I'll take a listen to the Com joint shortly.

The Common joint was chill. That beat sounds just like a beat Common would rock. Soulful. It was kind of a tease holding off on the drums for that long though LOL, I was starting to wonder if there were any drums at all.

Overall, really nice.

Beatfellaz +1.

HAHA... thx for the feedback! I like the Mya joint tho... on some other stuff! Not sayin' wha u said is invalid (entitlement), but iono... I'm just feelin' it. The vox was a bit difficult tho... n I ain't feel like doin' any thea-tricks - lmao! N u kno I can't rock a Common joint without DRUMZ - LMAO!

Goddamn!

That Mya joint is hot! Keep grindin' on it. Listen to it over and over again and pick out the little things that need to be brought out. ...Damn!

Common:

First off, I have listen to possibly every damn remix that people have put up on the "netz", and you are the first (besides myself) to have put BREAKS inside of the track. Have most producers lost their minds?! Is the break that hard of a concept? o_O

You don't even want to know how many times I yelled at my monitor about that...

Second. I like your track. It doesn't fit his verse, but I still like the track. It reminds me of some old Transworld Skateboarding, Sight Unseen type of stuff. It's a hot track without Common. I'd bump it. Work on it a little more. Minor adjustments like earlier. Find A BUNCH of underground lyricist to spit on it. (or leave it with Common if you have no other option.)

*Minor adjustments: Your hi-hat groove.

It seems that you worked on your kick. The snare you have finally tackled, but the hi-hat is stagnant. It needs love too!

Great effort man. The Mya rmx is pretty good, and since i hadn't heard anyone's remix of it before then, i didn't really know what to expect. good shit.
For the Common rmx, the smooth approach was a good concept considering he steered away from it on his last album, so it fits well.

im about to listen to the mya track, i took a shot at the common mix first, casue i submitted for that also so i wanted to compare it to mine. i didnt sample for mine, though, but it still fire. i like yours, only i gotta agree wit my nigga cheese on that statement about yourdrums comin in late, i was expectin a blow up soon as common started the hook, just like in the original song, but it just kept on goin, but the sample was hot, i got to admit. what did u sample by the way??

the mya track was deffinetly a lot better.. sounds real profesisonal.. i can tell u make r n b beats better. from all the shit i heard from u your rnb tracks sound the best to me.

anyways, here's my shit for the common, and to everyone givin feedback, dont go easy or soft, just be honest.. buti think ya'll gonna like this 1.

To be honest, I never intended for that track to be Common's remix. I had originally started that track for an artist I work wit. I thought that would be a fly girl joint for him (somn' almost like how Drake has Best I Ever Had). I was foolin' around wit the sample tho n sped it up to see if it would match up wit the vox in Com's acc "There's nothin' u could do." It did, so I said f*ck it - lmao! He was on some real battle rap ish, n it kinda brought me back to the days when dudes just use to play hot beats n MCs would just go in. So, I treated the track like that.

Mya's track on the other hand... I studied that. I'm thinkin' bout shoppin' that to Amerie tho, cause I can kinda hear her on that. No sense in wastin' a hot beat - lol! But, that track is really ruff, so I take the "prefessional" comment wit a big kool-aid grin - lmao! They're both 2tks. Mya's vox n my inst. straight off Reason. I will say this tho, I started out makin' rap joints... n I kno how to make them. The thing is, I do more than just the regular rap trax, n it seems like those types of trax ain't gettin' any more recognition like some of these new ones are. It was almost like there was no effort to it (i.e. A Milli). But, when I go do somn' like that, the track game ends up right back where I was. So, instead of chasin', I go harder wit the R&B cause I kno its gonna stay there regardless. Either way, I gotta make it do wha it do. I like when my partner makes rap joints tho, cause he comes up wit retarded ideas n they all crazy! It just sux that we really went in wit those n don't really have time to go back over them like we should cause of so much poppin' up.

Anywayz... Drape, I like the joint. I think that it could use a lil' polishin'. I also think that there could be somn' else in the intro parts. Other than that tho... I'm feelin' it, especially at his post hook lyrics.

thanks for the feedback, b. and i was feelin u on what u said bout how rap beats are being recognized lately, you keep doin ya thing tho wit the r n b, casue u deffinetly can go places wit that, i like your rap beats as well, though. i checked them out on that flash link u posted a while back.. your shit DOES have that east coast screamin out "NEW YORK, NEW YORK!!!" so keep up the good work , and good looks again for the feedback, all thats left is to wait and see where i can reach in the contest.
