Aiight, I kinda mixed this as I was goin' along (contradictin' myself JP - lol), then went back n did a touch up mix. I had block for about a month n some change. Couldn't get anything out due to all the garbage playin' on the radio n tv (shout to Rick Ross, OJ Da Juice Man, Gucci Mane, GS Boyz, Drake n Weezy for keepin' me sane through out the whole ordeal)! I did some searchin' on Amerie on any new joints n some overseas trax that may have been leaked or somn. TRASH I TELL U, TRASH! I'm glad Sony DID NOT release her third album! Anywayz, I was lookin' for that Amerie sound, but make it more brand new... like she's comin' out again (no pun intended... yes, that track is horrible too)! I think she could win wit this, n I definately think I did her some justice. Please lemme kno wha yall think!

DO IT! Make somn' n submit that sh*t! Doesn't hurt to try. The worst thing that can happen is they say no. But, at least u gave it a shot instead of just sittin' there wishin', u kno!? Just study their material n try to throw you're own unique flavor into it. Somn' that would be a good look for them to be relevant today n for people to wanna always hear it or talk about it cause its just that hot is wha I usually think of when I make a track for someone in mind. Takes a lil' gettin' use to, but once u get the hang of it, its nothin'! Can't wait to hear it, n thanx for the feedback (guys)!

I feel you on trying to find something she has done recently and not finding anything inspiring...outside of the production for 1 Thing...also couldn't get into the writing on a couple joints I heard but that is neither here nor there...
Definitely feeling the beat...nice and smooth...only thing i thought would have bigged it up a little was a little more build after the bridge...just my personal, could probably be accomplished w/ her vocals...overall solid...but aren't they going for the club feel...that is what is impeding me right now.
I feel you Drape but agree with Beatfellaz on just going for it...the critiques from the board as well as studying the production of those successfully doing it will help you get your R&B joints there.

Thanx for the feedback homie! I was contenplatin' a lot of ideas for the bridge. I wasn't even gonna take anything out in the first half... I was gonna keep everyting pretty much in line. But, I thought about how she does her vox n figured it would be a great place to do more vocally instead of tryin' to od on the hook. If she comes up wit somn' catchy (or needs somn' catchy... cause I already have an idea that she could definately pull off), then she can keep it simple n hot n then murder the bridge to sho off! I don't kno if they're lookin' for anything club... no one said anything like that. But, I figured this would be just as good in the clubs if not on the radio or for a video. I put this up there wit Fabolous/Ne-Yo/Ryan Leslie/Razar as far as the club goes. They get crazy love this way... aside from the techno soundin' stuff we're into now. I was considerin' takin' some south roots, but then was like it'll get played out n she'll just be known for followin' again rather than startin' trends. Altho she didn't officially start the music trend wit usin' Go-go... she broke thru in the industry wit it. Unfortunately, Beyonce came thru n ripped Rich's joint n now she doesn't take claim to it like she should cause B's obviously a better singer than she is. I would've ran wit it! But, nonetheless her experimentations failed n she's strugglin' to find THAT sound. She's a soulful person. Has a lot of likes in music, so that's how I judge wha she would like (not to mention wha would fit her) vs. wha she wouldn't. Her vox is one of a kind. Labels won't even look at it like they need THAT club record unless they feel its necessary! When they have listenin' sessions, all they do is sit there n figure out wha joints would be the (obviously) best to put out in terms of club, radio n video rolled into one. If the records sound hot, they runnin' wit it!

Let's Go is iffy to me. I can't put my finger on wha I like n wha I don't like. I just draw a blan on that one.

Gone Forever is dope. I think it can be a good song wit the right concept behind it (Def Jam - Amerie).

Your Mistakes ain't bad. Couple of thing bothered me. I think the song should have a complete key, not every instrument havin' off notes. It just clashed wit everything n didn't really sound that appealin' to me. I like the chord structure in the piano, n I think if u follow that key wit the other instruments you'd have somn'. The other thing was the lil' studder in the drums. U can get rid of that n keep the sequence tight. For me, the studder doesn't do it any justice, even when the snare roll comes in. (Def Jam - Karina)

Beat Drop is tight. I can hear Slim Thug, Mike Jones, T-Pain, Plies (etc.) on this wit Akon.

thanks a lot for the feedback. imma fix those drum studders in forget your mistakes, but the pad and strings got the same notes, and i enjoyed listenin to it with the keyz, but i'll try to follow everything up with the keyz and see what i can get done, if it sounds better than the first one, then that's what i'll send through. i was thinkin the same thing on what u commented about beat drop. and gone forever. your feedback really started to give me good ideas on how i can fix forget your mistakes, maybe if i like he way it sounds i can send both versions?? but na then i wont be able to send gone forever. w/e wen i do that track again, i'll post it up and have you help me out deciding which one i should post.

Drape Boss,

I swear I just posted a critique of your tracks but had some redirection issue of some sort....but yo, from memory

The first joint - Let's Go - I think it could be worked if the arrangement was made more R&B standard...

Gone Forever - Is a rider!

Your Mistake - Seemed like a dropoff after hearing the other two tracks - maybe could use some more work.

Beat Drop - Is pretty straight. I see what Beatfellaz is talking about in the direction of the track...the right southern cat on this would make this a mean mugger...

Grindin' Jack!

AT THA HOMIE CURTDOG:: thanks much for the feedback. i jsut checked out your tracks myslef.
the first one had good percussion, and i really felt the organ, but what i didnt like was the bassline and kick mix. i was thinkin as the beat started that since the kick is kinda cut off with the lows, the bass is gonna be real subby and thick, but the bass was like equivelant to the kick frequencies, which kinda didnt move me as well as it could have if the bass was subby, or the kick was thick and low. parametric EQ and/or compression always solves this problem.
the second one was a lot better, and left good room for amerie's sexy voice to bring life to the track. i felt like you left one empty track open for the vocals, and that's perfect for her. i think a delay or nice reverb would sound great on those short, high piano chords u threw in on the right side. but overall, i dug the track. good luck on the sub. HOLLA.

haha...thought I would soften you all up before you listened...but definitely thanks. I am deficient in the mixing dept especially with eq'in/compression/reverb...hell, proper plugin use, so I stay open and appreciate any suggestions...I will try your suggestions on the bass to give it a little more lower freq presence...Thanks.

What's up Aaron James?!?!....so dog check it out.....(Like Randy Jackson)......I definitely felt both beats but felt that Try Me Baby would fit Amerie's style more so than Omega.....I could not figure out how she would fit her vocal style on Omega....but tight work though music wise....

Thanks for the love. Try Me Baby is definitely the direction I wanna take her in...but I had to put Omega in there just to see what she could do with it.

I think with the right vocal producer, she could do somethin with it.
