Thread: ASylum Sub and Beat battle

here are 2 of the 4 tracks i sent for the asylum but i want everyones honest opinion on the neck brace track because i feel it would be good for a beat battle im sendin in for soon. problem is i just made it and you know when you like a beat alot when you just finish it and u play it at a battle and ppl are sittin there :rolleye:. lemme kno if u think its on point

First I gotta thank u for gettin' me back on track wit wha R&B sounds like. I got lost for a min' doin' all this Pop sh*t - lmao!

That first track... crazy! I'm feelin' that joint. I think u can let the keys shine a lil' more n fall back just a tad on the strings or pads (whatever's accompanyin' it). But, that track is crack!

The battle joint... muy bueno! This is wha I get from battles tho... they wanna hear variations, n not in the instrument kinda way - which sux! They don't pay attention to wha we do. So, I listened to the whole thing to see if u was gonna do wha I was gonna suggest n u did! U took out the low synth(s) n u let the high ones rock. It sounds almost spooky like. U kno wha I'm talkin' bout! In the beginnin after that psych-out instector gadget drop (which will be the "ITS OVER FOR WHOEVER YOU'RE BATTLIN'" factor) n the first 8 bars of the verse, put that for those next 8 bars instead of the hook. Then drop that chorus (everything) in! That's enuff variation for them to handle! Repeat it again after the chorus. This way, the verses will be 16s wit 8 wit the synths n 8 wit that spooky soundin' pad or whatever... n because the instruments drop, when the chorus kicks in it'll have a bigger effect wit that other synth kickin' in the way it does than a transition that's too smooth for them to grasp. Only other thing is make sure those drums are knockin'. It will do u justice when the instruments drop out for that second half of the verse. U remember when P. Riot was in that first NY battle... not only was she comin' wit it, but she was gettin' by off of her drums (n that's real talk... as much as she has talent, I heard some joints that would drown her under the water... but they ain't get recognition like that because their mixes weren't as clear as hers). Not talkin' mess bout that chick tho... CAUSE SHE CAN PRODUCE HER ASS OFF!!! That's all I would suggest!

Neck Brace is fireee DN8 !! Only some more impressive changes like the beginning and u have it

Lights Off - This is pretty tight R&B/Pop joint. I am more into the Neo-soul sound but could def see an R&B/Pop head rocking this.

Neck Brace - I am bout to go bball for lunch and this came on and got an immediate "ugly" mug...this is tight work!
