Aiight, I've seen this way before the flyer hit the email accts. So, here's wha I submitted. Yall tell me wha u think. I'm sorry they're snips, but DP's site won't let me upload my full versions even tho they don't exceed the limit (n I don't kno why... someone please check that out)! These joints have to be like 1-2 years old, but I think they can still be relevant today! Aiight, enuff... OPINIONS!!!

P.S. - Don't forget to post yours up if you're submittin' for this. I don't wanna be the only one!

Truth iz back - It's hard to follow during the hook part and painfully repetitive. Definitely needs some variance. The cadence is good though, just add some changes.

Over Customs - I didnt think this was bad at all. Again, I would have liked to hear more changes, but I aint mad at the beat. I dont like the electronic Max Headroom type of stutter leading into "how I'mma get the caine, over customs" but the dope slangin rappers would probably appreciate that track if nothing else for a mixtape.

over customs- the beats alright, i like that you didnt just use a straight kick snare kick snare pattern. repetitive tho

truthz is back- i like this beat, once again i think its kinda repetitive but i could hear someone like ghost over this. honestly i would like the beat without the hook better

Drapes beats- i feel like the sounds are too stock, and i couldnt feel the drum pattern or the drums on "if we see the cops". same with the zoe sampled beat, you gotta get more kick to your drums and try some new sounds

Drape - the hooks are banannaz... but I'm not crazy about the beats. U should've came harder wit it. To me they're too soft.

Everyone critiq'n - thanks! Bout damn time people started speakin' they minds - lol! Honestly, Truth Iz Back was thought up when NaS was tryinna come out wit his "Hip Hop Is Dead" album n Over Customs was made for just that (I think), a mixtape (just to give u a time frame) - lol! So, mayb they aren't relevant today, altho I do have a couple of dudes spittin' over Truth Iz Back... n I must say I like it. If u want, I'll post it up n yall can tell me wha yall thinkl. But, I pretty much got off of makin' joints like that anyway! I have too many ideas bottled up in my mind to try n get it out of a sample... unless the sample is what's givin' me the idea - lol!

On "if we see the cops" I agree with the previous post that said the sound sounded very stock. Specifically, the sounds that come in during the verse section stick out badly sonically. Also, some of the sounds are really bright for the feel of that hook. I think if the song is built around a hard hook like that, u want to watch the way you produce the rest of the record. For example, try to select sounds and use instrument articulations that help that feel.

With the horns you use (the high octave ones in particular) they could use some layering (and some delay would help). Make sure you keep the delay tight though or it'll sound jumbled up.

No scale has the same major issue as the first record. The kick is basically non-existant. You can hear its there somewhere but it has virtually no knock. Just so I can give some constructive advice instead of just criticizing, did you mix this on headphones, reference monitors, or what?

What it do Drape...I actually think No Scale is pretty str8 but the arrangement needs a little work. In the beginning the sample for the hook is running too long...The intro is pretty nice. I like the way it builds but you could probably definitely benefit from better instrument samples or stacking instruments especially the horns....The hook in the beginning can be shortened or possibly not used. The drums need to hit harder. Missing punch....Probably could use some compression or stacking with other drums or better drum samples....BUT I think you have something to work with.

Yo, the hook for If We See The Cops is tight but the beat is not hitting hard enough. I would definitely keep that hook but put a much harder beat under it. Keep Grindin!
