    All and all, went good.

Started off with some nice submissions that caught his attention from a dude named sakwebeats. But after the first two, it kinda went off.

I don't know if I saw anyone else from here on there but you probably noticed me with my dry satire comments throughout. I just can't shut up sometimes, sorry ya LMAO

    Important things to realize:

    1) Please know what you're submitting and to whom. So many weird fuck ass submissions with heavy ass arpeggios and synths and wild drums flaring in all directions. Real Jeezy like....

That is NOT G-Unit. You're dealing with a G-Unit exec. Act accordingly. I really wanted to cuss those people out but I refrained myself from doing that LMFAO I felt like I was wasting my time listening to that. Imagine how he feels....

    2) Have a strong melody that is captivating and continuous and isn't a simple loop. Something striking but not piercing. Distinct and memorable clean sounds. Whether that be keys, guitar plucks, etc.

    3) Hard drums. Hard drums and lots of varying crashes and open hats on breaks. Have a pattern to your drums though...lay out properly. Don't go Just Blaze.

This is all I learned from just listening as me and hearing what he had to say. I kinda knew all this beforehand though. Sometimes I think Im better off as an A&R than a producer LMFAO But anyway...

Very good night and you can learn a thing or two...

    Good stuff.

Ya should tune in next time.

Dang... I'm sorta mad I didn't get to make this one. Part of that is cause I'm in NC right now (just packed up n am ready 2 go... waitin' for my 7:30am ride to get here to make my 8:58am train back to NY... sorry Jaay, this was more a "relax" trip) n wasn't able to check the twit as I wanted to (gotta share the computer - lol). I will try to catch this next one tho. I definately agree wit one of the statements u made KS, which was to understand who the submittee is. Jeezy is not gonna take trax from Battle Cat that he had in mind for Tha Eastsidaz n Dj. Premier isn't gonna go bangin' down Ron Browz' door wit some NYG material, nor would he for Jeezy or Tha Eastsidaz. Make the music for that particular artist. Everything isn't for everybody. Kno wha they like. If G-unit is known for comin' out the box wit hard hittin' trax, then take note n construct that! Don't just try to get by. Wha makes a good producer is the attention to detail factor, n that goes for matters outside of the track as well as in. If people are unfamiliar, then they need to get familiar before they go makin' themselves look bad in front of people who hold weight n prolly won't ever call those producers back cause of the bad first impression of trax they've gotten. I kno I've been down that road a time or two. People thought because my past trax weren't alllat I was garbage. That wasn't even for sho, that was on some "I need to find wha I want to do" xperimentation nonsense. Then when I come out the gate on some "HOLY SH*T" noise, they turn their heads because of the first batch of trax they've heard from me that weren't all that great (which in my case is a lil' different than wha I'm xplainin', but u get the picture). Just make sure you're in pocket as much as u should be wit everything u submit! U have plenty of room to be creative, but no room to be irresponsible!

i cant believe i missed this shit AGAIN... cheese, your deffinetly right about submitting what to who.. completly tru. and i got a lot of shit in mind for that sub. only thing is i never seem to make that shit. i knew about it before it even started, but it's already dropped 3 times and i havent been on any yet. im 9 hours ahead on the time zone, but i'll be in NY on the 26th of this month, so imma just make a bunch of "gorilla" beats and prepare them for when im in ny, mayybe i'll head down to times square and see give the nigga the beats on a cd or a flash drive. lolz. but yea so i hope this shit goes on a little longer so i can be a part of it as well.

Tony G shitted on me pretty good last night LOL - dude said my sound quality needed to be better, which struck me as completely ridiculous, but its all good. It also shows the importance of 1) playing your shit for as many a&r's as possible (cause Dre McKenzie really likes my shit) and 2) being able to skip a&r's completely and get beats right to the artist.

    Yo Mr. Kraft,

I was in the house last night. I thought it went real well too. I figure I'd throw down a couple tips I got from it because you can never hear too many lol.

    1) "Battle" Beats are typically NOT "Placement" beats. If you're a battle beat maker, then hit the crowd with the fast hi hats and nonstop drums because technically, you don't need an artist on it to win. If you're in this game for the long haul and want placements, you need to clean up and "empty out" your beats enough so that an artist can fill it up.

    2) Do not think that you need to submit ASAP to A&R's. Tony G stressed that a first impression is EVERYTHING to him. Take the time to perfect your craft. Hone your skills until you know A&R's can't resist it. If he sees your name followed by three wack beats, he most likely will not open your next e-mail.

    3) To go with what Kraft said, know who you're shopping to. Yes, Tony did say that he did other placements besides G-Unit...but you know he wants to hear G-Unit type beats.

Props to Jaay Peso again for letting us know about this...

first impressions are everything to everyone.. if they hear your shit, and dont like it, next time you send in a track, they'll be like "o this that same nigga again, na he's weak...PASS" so you gotta impress on your first sub to a specific exec. because someone like tony g, i seen it stated before, remembers names.. and you'll still be that same "weak" cat that sent him that garbage beat last week, and no matter how piff the shit is, he'll approach it with the words "trash" set in his mind, and thats IF he listens to it. havent submitted to him, yet, didnt get a chance, but imma go hard on the first sub, cause even if you dont get placed that early, if the first beat is good to him, the second one will be approached by "i like this dudes shit, letz see what he got this time"

If you've ever submitted a beat for a G-unit beat opp through Jim Bond, don't submit that to Tony G - thats how he already had one of my beats. SMH.

Oh yea Doc he did play your stuff. I forgot how the tracks sounded though.

But yes, Tony G does remember names - I think he even remembered Doc as well.

But for a guy with my production name, I've got to leave a lasting first impression because well - it's a pretty recognizable name LMAO I'm going to hold off for maybe another session until I have something big to offer.

IDK whose track it was when TG made this comment but he said: if u been making beats for a long time and this is all u can come up with, u need to do something else with your time because beat making is not for you. Lol...That's not a good thang to say to someone. That killed (whoeva he was talking to) spirit. That's like a teacher in elementary school telling a student: You will never go to college, you will grow up and be a bum. You won't succeed in life. Lol....1 man can trash your beats and another can use em. U just never know in this business. I heard some music for the past 20 years that I thought was trash but it made money and gained fans. So basically, everyone has an opinion. I think the guy that Tony G dissed replied because TG got mad at a comment someone made in the chat room...Lol
As up and coming/aspiring Producers and artist, we're gonna hear things we don't wanna hear in this business. I have a pal up at Universal Records who always tells me this is a dirty business. People will step on ya face to get where they need to be. This is like the drug game when it comes to eating or trying to eat.
But overall, I like what TG is doing. This gives a person a chance to actually get his or her music heard and at the same time his feedback can help you or hurt you.
In this business you have to be built like a rock and don't take shit that people say to you personal. YOU CAN'T BE A BITCH IN THIS GAME!!!!!!!!!!! Take it on the chin like a ex-champ and run with it. Build off of hate and criticism!

Missed another one but will hopefully catch the nxt...there is def a lot to learn from a review of your track from someone in his position...AND for free!!!....Def build the track to the artist you are trying to place with...but in your sound. Sometimes we get too hung up on the past "sound" of an artist that we get scared to see that artist on this new sound we creating...AND hip hop is in dire need of new sounds...Def study the artist but do not be scared to do you, your sound...if he craps on it, his lost (if the track is actually good, lol)...keep grindin'...Another A&R or artist, who may or may not be associated to G-Unit, may think it is the greatest thing since slice bread...I will def try to at least check out the next one...speaking of Battle Cat, a Battle Cat/50 track might actually be kinda tight...especially with 50's melodic type sing-song flow...and different. We need more difference...Word!

Whats funny is one of those tracks Dre McKenzie (his boss) has heard and practically came out of his seat when he heard it at Beats on the Beach, so I mean...everybody's got an opinion.
