From wha I've heard n saw on here, yeah. If u check out hotels.com, u might be able to find some at good rates. My only other suggestions would be to go directly to the hotels' sites n check their rates. They seem to be cheaper than what the sites offer them for. Try lookin' at doubletree.com, marriott.com, hamptoninn.com, qualityinn.com. Also, check out hotels in the White Plains area. I kno a few of them have some ok rates. Its about 30 min. away by train ($6.50 one way). U could drive, n dependin' on wha day n wha time the conferences are, I might end up drivin' down there myself... so if u needed a ride if u was up here I'd have u. Other than that tho, check those n see wha u can find.

Man, I'm either drivin' (15-20 min,), takin' the Metro North (30 min.) or takin' the 20 bus to the D (2.5-3 hrs.). It all depends on how I feel that day - lmao!

Yeah... the city is really busy n lookin' for parkin' without payin' for it is rediculous. U have to kno where to park n not mind the hike(s). If I do drive tho n I'm not able to get any spots in Manhattan, I'm just gonna cross the bridge n park in BK by the studio n take the F train back over!

That hotel is right near a Path train exit ($1.75 http://www.panynj.gov/). I'm sure something in Jersey would be a lot more affordable.

A few things. The path train doesn't have a late schedule, so if u plan on bein' in the city late (unless u get a rental n drive back over... which would be an $8 toll at the GWB, Lincoln & Holland Tunnels) I wouldn't recommend it. I don't kno how much a cab is to go out there (like Jersey City cause that's the closes part to NYC that I kno of anyway), but I kno it ain't cheap! If u catch a flight or train in, make sure u get it goin' to Jersey. For u to land in NY n go back over to Jersey makes no sense whatsoever! You're better off just gettin' it in NY... that's all too much of a hassle (unless u absolutely kno of some spots out there DK)!

path train runs 24 hours a day. After real late (like 2am-5am) it comes ever 30 minutes. Other than that one will come every 5-15 minutes depending on the time of day.

Are u talkin' bout the Path train on 33-34 or Penn? I thought they all had time limits... like the last trains runnin' from 33-34 is like 12 or somn'.

All of the Path trains run 24 hours. After 12, a few of the lines are combined which is why trains only come every 30 minutes, but you can go to any of the stops along the path lines at any time of day.

In Jersey, the most accessible areas for the Path train to 33rd is Hoboken, Pavonia/Newport (an area in Jersey City), Grove Street (jersey city), and Journal Square (also in Jersey City, but stay in the commercial area if u go to this one). If you found hotels in those areas it will definitely be much cheaper than staying in NYC. Its about a 20 minute ride to 33rd from any of those.

If anyone is thinking of doing this, just email me (dan@danskitchen.net). I'm not sure I can make it to this conference myself, but I'm more than happy to help out if you are still lost.
