    Where We Came From
It all began in 1999...or at least that’s when the idea was born. Felisha Booker, Founder of Dynamic Producer was working with indie record label Unem Entertainment in Cleveland, OH when an in-house artist expressed an interest in becoming a music producer. In an effort to assist the artist to gain exposure as a producer, Booker began to tirelessly research the world of up & coming music producers. To her great surprise, she was unable to find any outlet for music producers looking to break into the music industry. This was the light bulb moment.

Soon thereafter, Booker, armed with $40 and a dream, moved to New York City to get closer to the major music scene to make her own mark in the music industry. While in New York, Booker often juggled multiple temp jobs during the day and spent her evenings and weekends networking in the industry and researching to plot and plan her next move. In 2001, through a networking event at Chelsea Piers in Manhattan, Booker was introduced to Janine Horton, who’d later hire her to work as a temp at Elektra Records.

While the experience of working at a major label was exciting, Booker new that it was something even greater that she had to do. Booker began working on her brainchild, The First Annual Ear To Da Streets Producers Conference, the industry’s producers conference, which took place July 27-29, 2002. The event welcomed a handful of aspiring music producers hoping to gain knowledge from major record label executives as well as production heavyweights such as Pete Rock and Kanye West. Both Rock and West along with various record label executives and major producers shared their experiences in the music industry.

Shortly after, a flood of producers began to pour in and look towards Booker and her events for a range of industry insight, advice, and connections. From this demand, Ear To Da Streets became Dynamic Producer and it evolved from a 3 day conference into a full-fledged professional organization operating year round to champion the plight of up & coming music producers.
