What good DP Fam? My name is Cedric Bolton, known to most as "Blackman Preach" poet/spoken word artist and have been active with the forum a little over a year. This journey of creating music re-emerged in Minneapolis 4 yrs ago when I was looking for a producer to purchase beats for my first album "State of the Ghetto Address." My name is C.E.P., Like a few of you I been produing 18 yrs. Yes Drewski I share some similarities with you. I am Dallas best kept secret. I been producing since I was 19. I got serious when I turned 24. I have worked with local artist, some major and some major reginal (those on the cusp). I may be an older cat but I don't have the swizz beat syndrome. Names Kaseeno, been living in Ft. Lauderdale for the last 7 years, originally from Atlantic City, NJ. Been producing for like 12+ years but never really took it seriously till like 4-5 years ago. It was mainly just to make tracks to rap over. I like many producers started as a rapper and was tired of rapping over instrumentals. Truth be told the RZA is what really made me want to make beats. The hard as grimy drums and obscure samples...thats me right there. Now I really dont rap anymore as I have found that I enjoy making beats/producing artists better, plus I dont think there is a market for a 30 plus debut rapper.

As far as studio wise I recently have went all PC based. PC with mad HD space, Ableton Live 6, Battery 3, Kontakt 2, etc....a gang of VSTs, M Audio Trigger Finger, MAudio Keystation 49, Behringher truth b2031. A ton of samples I have not even touched yet. I am mostly a sample based producer but I also get it in straight up with no samples sometimes.
